Badger Support Network (BSN) is not a therapy or crisis organization, though participants in our Badger-Support Sessions often describe them as therapeutic. BSN provides a safe, peer-led space dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being among UW-Madison students. While our Peer Facilitators are trained and advised by University Health Services, they are not professional counselors.
Yes. Peer Groups are a resources for students at UW-Madison, we are open to undergraduates, graduates, professional students, and all student identity groups. Â
Our weekly group is open to all students because we believe everyone can benefit from building a supportive community. Even if you’re not seeking support right now, showing up for a fellow Badger—or learning how to offer support with confidence and compassion—helps break the stigma, anxiety, and stress surrounding mental health.
Weekly groups usually consist of 6-10 students
BSN's peer groups are designed to meet fellow Badgers where they are—no commitment required. All groups are offered in a convenient drop-in format, so you can join when it fits your schedule.
We currently host weekly groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Join a group :D
Our primary email is bsndirectors@gmail.com, communications may also be sent to our forwarder @bsnwisco.org. Directors & Peer Leaders may use their personal wisc emails for communications.Â
Weekly Groups are led by University of Wisconsin students. Â After an application and interview process, these students undergo a holistic health and well-being training by various resources to create a space and dialogue that is consistently inviting, inclusive and engaging.Â
