I am a counseling service trainee at MHS. As a counseling service trainee, I provide generalist counseling to students with low risk and low acuity, and I practice under the supervision of a licensed provider. My approach to therapy is very person-centered and eclectic; I draw a lot on PIE theory, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness techniques. 

In addition to clinical work, as an MSW student, I am required to implement a change agent project, which seeks to address a barrier/issue at my agency. For my change agent project, I am implementing an ecotherapy wellness group where students will have the opportunity to lean and practice ecotherapy techniques that will help them feel more connected to their mind, body, and environment! In addition to helping students feel more connected/grounded, this group seeks to align UHS more closely to its mission of providing holistic care to students and expands UHS services to offer nature-based services for students. 

I graduated with my BSW last year and am currently an advanced standing MSW student on the mental health track!  Last year, I interned at Mentoring Positives, a non-profit in Madison, WI which seeks to increase youth’s social, emotional, and leadership skills. I also currently work as a peer wellness coach at RecWell.
