At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, students are confronted with a variety of challenges, academically, socially, and mentally. The Healthy Minds study by UHS show that more than 2 in 5 students are experiencing significant symptoms of anxiety, depression, or both. Additionally, over 4 in 5 students report that emotional or mental difficulties are impacting their academic performance.
In the midst of these challenges, finding a supportive community is more important than ever. In addition to other forms of informal help-seeking, be that through friends, roommates, or other non-clinical sources. Badger Support Network's mission is to help empower students to create a resilient community, supporting each other’s identity, mental health, and well-being.
Here’s how Badger Supports can make a difference for you:
Connect with Peers: Join weekly, peer-facilitated groups where you can share experiences and find understanding friends.
Find Support: Access a safe space to discuss your mental health and receive support from fellow students who genuinely care.
Engage in Events: Participate in fun and uplifting community-building events designed to help you relax and connect with others.
Build Resilience: Develop skills and relationships that will help you navigate the challenges of university life with confidence and strength.
You’re not alone. Badger Supports is one of the many places at UW-Madison here to help you thrive, both academically and personally. Together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community at UW-Madison. Join us and be a part of this positive and uplifting journey!
